I have been thinking for a while about what my first post would be about and I decided to start off with a cafe that my girlfriends and I pleasantly stumbled across recently.
My two friends, Casey, Angie and I went out for lunch recently and just planned to go to Surry Hills to find somewhere to eat. We walked up crown street and then walked back to where I had parked the car and ended up just choosing the cafe we parked in front of. It looked sweet and simple with a nice area outside on the street to sit down and eat which was what we wanted.
I think we had actually just gone to Surry Hills for a coffee but took a look at the menu and decided that we would eat.

Along with being organic, Kawa offers gluten free options, Vegan options, Vegetarian options and all day breakfast ( Which in itself is the best thing ever ). Also pet friendly!
I'm personally not one to stray from smashed avo when it's on the menu so I ordered that, grilled haloumi with honey and home made Zaatar and a poached pear frappe. All of which was completely delicious. ( The frappes are to die for )
Angie also got the grilled haloumi and fried spiced cauliflower with homemade hommus chickpeas. Casey ordered fresh fruit and yoghurt.
All the food was so good, you couldn't fault it and seriously affordable too. I think it was maximum $20 for each of us.
I'll have to return soon to try something other than smashed avo on their seriously mouth-watering menu.
I didn't take a photo of the food. Probably because it looked too good that I had to eat it straight away but you can look at the menu below and also check out their instagram tags to see how great the food looks.
Apart from a very bizarre lady walking past us throwing some serious shade (words far too inappropriate for this blog), I had a seriously pleasant experience at Kawa.
Check it out!
